Prof Dr Peter S. Henne
Peter S. Henne is an Associate Professor of Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Vermont. His research focuses on religious politics (specifically the impact of religious repression), terrorism, and the Middle East. His first book—published by Cambridge University Press—analyzed the impact of Islam-state ties on Muslim states’ counterterrorism policies. His current work explores how states use religion as a tool in foreign policy. He has published extensively in scholarly and popular outlets. Prof. previously ran the Pew Research Center’s Global Restrictions on Religion project, and worked in counterterrorism as a consultant with the US government. Prof. Henne received his Ph.D. from Georgetown University, and his B.A. from Vassar College.
